This way you lose a little of the peripheral vision but the game gets the feel for the good old classic Diablo I.Īlso, I think another cause for the blurry image that is more noticeable when you switch to the legacy graphics and many people get is that they have set the anti aliasing method to TAA in Resurrected´s options. If you play with a 1440p monitor you can set both the classic Diablo 2 LoD and Diablo 2 Resurrected to display the game at 640 x 480 and have a perfect upscaling to the monitor´s native res as one pixel in the original game then perfectly translates to a square of 3 x 3 pixels on a 1440p monitor. A little late to this thread but I want to add my two cents to your great response. TLDR - the game is identical to Glide D2:LOD when you set contrast correctly and use the right resolution But the inventory graphics are again pixel perfect so it's really not a problem. Because it is greatly expanded in size, the legacy graphics for the stash have changed. The one exception to this matching pixel level details is the new stash. But this would happen the same with original D2 in fullscreen as well so it doesn't really matter. Now when you play with the legacy graphics at your LCD monitor's native resolution, probably 1920x1080 or 2560x1440, what is happening is you are upscaling that 800圆00 frame to the full res and you will be getting some blurring from non-integer scaling of 2D pixel art.

The pixels are identical everywhere I look. I confirmed this by setting my desktop resolution to 800圆00, loading up D2R and using legacy graphics, taking a screenshot of the starting position in Act 1, then doing the same with D2:LOD with Glide at 800圆00 and finally examining the screenshots under heavy magnification in picture editing software. I am extremely meticulous about this stuff and am positive about this, it is precisely the same at a pixel level. Setting it to the appropriate 50/100 or center point on the bar, corrects this problem and makes the legacy graphics look 100% identical to the original game's Glide mode. This makes everything look extremely off with colors and lighting. It's ironic that this is the top post while the guy with the actual answer is currently downvoted.ĭ2R ships with the legacy contrast setting cranked to the max.
